Use your language expertise to help Japanese speakers learn English.
Duolingo is looking for a native-level Japanese speaker to help us improve the way we teach English to our Japanese-speaking users in Japan. If you have a strong background and familiarity with Japanese, this is the perfect position for you.
This is a part-time hourly position of about 8-10 hours a week. You will gain experience working in an award-winning startup named one of the “most innovative companies in education”. You will work directly with product managers, engineers and other Duolingo team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Improve course content by editing sentences, correcting translations and proposing other improvements.
* Read user reports and identify what learners struggle with the most.
* Improve localization of Japanese user interface by translating strings from English & incorporating translation feedback.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Strong interest in the mission of Duolingo.
* Native-level fluency in both spoken and written Japanese and English.
* Basic computer skills.
* Familiarity with app usage in Japan and English-learners in Japan is a plus.
* Ability to work 8-10 hours a week, mainly from home (hours are flexible and will be mutually determined).
* Work authorization in the United States.
