Global Wordsmiths, a language service provider headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, serves immigrants and refugees by eliminating language access barriers. We seek bilingual, professional applicants to work 5-25 hours a week interpreting and translating for our clients located in Western P.A. Our clients require in-person interpretation.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have a native or near-native fluency in Mandarin.
Drivers license and access to car required
Residency in Western P.A. required
Valid work visa and authorization to work in U.S. required
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Attend all mandatory trainings
Obtain all mandatory clearances
Complete weekly required paperwork
Interpret for immigrants and refugees in a variety of settings
Requirements:

Must be dependable and punctual
Be courteous and personable
Be self-directed, willing to take initiative and detail-oriented
Respect and maintain confidentiality of immigrants, refugees and clients at all times
Establish and maintain professional boundaries
Be responsive to email and SMS assignment requests
Must complete required paperwork in a timely manner
Job Title: Mandarin Interpreter
Schedule/Shifts: 5-25/wk, flexible
Pay: $25 - $30/hour for in-person interpretation, translation rates vary

Requirements: FBI Clearance, PA Criminal History Clearance, PA Child Abuse Clearance and completion of Global Wordsmiths’ professional training program
