Jason Chen is a Taiwanese-American pop singer. He began as a singer performing covers on YouTube, where he gained a sizable following. He has also performed in various countries such as Australia, Canada, China, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan, as well as throughout the United States. After graduating from UCLA, he became an accountant for about a year, but later decided to mainly focus on producing music. His single, “Best Friend”, now has over 20 million views and his channel has almost 2 million subscribers. In his own albums, Jason not only writes catchy pop songs, but he also specializes in Chinese songs. This is a great way to expose the younger generation to different cultural influences. Jason Chen, among a few others, paved the way for Asian American musicians on Youtube.
