Carnegie Mellon University's Department of Modern Languages presents "Here and There: Anti-Racist Perspectives from Japan and Germany" on November 16. It runs from 7:00 to 8:30 pm and is free and open to the public, though registration is required.

Baye McNeil is an author, columnist, and lecturer born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, who currently resides in Yokahama, Japan. He is the author of two books on life as a non-Japanese person of African descent living in Japan. His column "Black Eye" is featured in the Japan Times.

Priscilla Layne is an Associate Professor of German and Adjunct Associate Professor of African, African American, and Diaspora Studies at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She receive her PhD from the University of California, Berkeley.
