Join us in the Ailsa Mellon Bruce Decorative Arts and Design galleries for an in-person story time with curatorial assistant Alyssa Velazquez reading A Boy Named Isamu: A Story of Isamu Noguchi by James Yang followed by an art-making activity for children 12 and under.

Spend an afternoon celebrating the birthday of Japanese American artist Isamu Noguchi in this reimagining of Noguchi as a young boy wandering through an outdoor market, through the forest, and then by the ocean. View the world through the eyes of the young artist and begin to see how "stones look like birds, and birds look like stones.Following the art-making activity, be sure to wander the galleries to see objects by Noguchi in Carnegie Museum of Art's permanent collection.
