The Hard Rock Cafe in Pittsburgh will host Anime Night Goes Plus Ultra on January 26.
Anime Night is a dance party inspired by music popularized throughout anime. This edition of Anime Night, "Anime Night Goes Plus Ultra", celebrates the music of My Hero Academia, alongside other anime giants such as Naruto: Shippuden, One Piece, Demon Slayer, Fairy Tail, and many more.The show is 21+, doors open at 7:00 pm, and the event starts at 8:00 pm. Tickets are available online. The Hard Rock Cafe is located at 230 W. Station Square Drive (map) in Station Square.

The 98 Contemporary Thai Cuisine is coming soon to Fox Chapel, run by the owner of Took Took 98 in Squirrel Hill. Banners went up for the restaurant in September at 1034 Freeport Rd. (map), until recently home of one of three Thai Place locations around the city.

26th CASTP Greater Pittsburgh Lunar New Year Fair and Show, January 15 in Oakland.
The Chinese Association for Science and Technology - Pittsburgh Chapter is hosting its 26th annual Lunar New Year Fair and Show on January 15 in Oakland.
In 2023, to celebrate cultural diversity, science and technology, and art, CASTP and Carnegie Museum of Art work together to bring a face-to-face celebratory experience to everyone on site! This 5-hour event features dazzling performances from the Greater Pittsburgh multicultural community, as well as an on-going Fair that includes photography and Youth Art exhibitions, the paintings of award-winning New York abstract artist, Hedy O’Beil, robot shows, VR game interaction, and various cultural activities.
Time: 1:00-6:00 pm, Sunday, January 15th, 2023
- Fair 1:00-3:00 pm
- Show 3:30-5:30 pm (everyone can enter the Music Hall after 3:00 pm)
Location: Carnegie Museum of Art (4400 Forbes Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15213)
Ticket: Free of charge! (Registration required. Donations welcome)
All attendees are encouraged to wear festive clothes of your own choice, including traditional festive outfits, Qipao, HanFu, tunics, etc.

To all of our loyal customers we would like to thank you for another great year and would like to wish you all a happy new year! We absolutely love the city of Pittsburgh and all the overwhelming support we have received over the past four years! It has been our honor to serve each and every one of you and watch you all enjoy the traditional Vietnamese cuisine we have offered. With that being said it is now time for for our family to start a new chapter and move locations to be closer to our family and loved ones! Again, we cannot thank each and every one of you enough and realize this is a bittersweet moment for Two Sisters.The restaurant opened in February 2019 at 216 N. Highland Ave.

Viet Nom Nom, a Vietnamese quick service restaurant, is now open in Squirrel Hill. The online menu is currently incomplete, but a display on the window details the process of building a bowl: choose a carb, choose a protein, and choose some veggies.
is located at 1711 Murray Ave. in Squirrel Hill (map), the spot most recently occupied by Nu Jewish Bistro. Signage for it first went up in November.

2022 film Shin Ultraman (シン・ウルトラマン) playing in Pittsburgh, January 11 and 12.
The 2022 Japanese superhero and kaiju film Shin Ultraman (シン・ウルトラマン) will play in Pittsburgh on January 11 and 12. From the distributor:
There’s never a dull day on Japan's newly established SSSP kaiju defense taskforce, led by Kimio Tamura, played by DRIVE MY CAR’s Hidetoshi Nishijima. After a particularly challenging encounter, a giant silver robot descends from the sky to rescue the country. Dubbed Ultraman, this robot’s identity and purpose are a mystery. SHIN ULTRAMAN is a delightful reimagining of one of Japan’s classic superheroes, full of cosmic twists, campy villains, and giants of all species. Added value includes an introduction from the film’s director, Shinji Higuchi.It is scheduled to play locally at the Cinemark theaters in Monaca, Monroeville, North Hills, and Robinson, and the AMC Loews Waterfront and AMC South Hills, though more locations may be announced later. Tickets are available online: the January 11 screenings are in Japanese with English subtitles, and the January 12 screenings are dubbed in English.
